Youth Prevention ServicesCSS staff works with at-risk youth in schools, and at a variety of youth venues offering prevention curriculum that focuses on addiction, violence, promiscuity and suicide prevention.
In recent years, CSS staff has put more emphasis on prevention services, particularly for at-risk youth. This programming includes using Lakota Circle of Hope, a classroom based prevention curriculum developed by staff and Lakota advisors, local media (radio and newspaper) to provide prevention education, and after-school recreation that focuses on character building and leadership skills, challenging these young people to dream of a world better than the one they inhabit.
